I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1988, which for me has meant numbness and weakness on the left side (I am left side weak). Many things can cause these problems to get worse (like heat), and living in Texas for 32 years did not help matters. Well, when I started working with altered tunings, and then a little later, 3 string capos, things began to change dramatically. Since then, I have built an entire curriculum to help people deal with these kind of issues... I've worked with folks who have lost fingers, veterans with shrapnel damage from going to war (there is nothing cooler than to see someone play a guitar again, when they thought they were done), and even people who just don't want to learn how to play guitar in the normal way.
